Hosted by MFAH and HoustonPBS, "An Evening of Freedom Songs" with Heritage of Zion Quartet led by Jason Oby, professor of music and voice at Texas Southern University, includes highlights from the documentary Freedom Riders and songs featured in the film. The full documentary will be shown on May 16 at 8 p.m. on Channel 8.

A discussion follows about music as a source of motivation and celebration throughout the Civil Rights Movement. Admission is free. RSVP is required.
