Philadelphia's Koresh Dance Company returns to Houston for a special one-night performance presented by the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center. The curtain raises to the full 10-member Koresh Dance Company clad in white for the celebratory work that channels Roni Koresh's Yemenite roots, Home, to the music of the Idan Raichel Project.
Koresh Dance Company, founded in 1991 by Israeli-born choreographer and artistic director Roni Koresh, is known for its engaging performance and technically superb dancers. Critics say that "when the dust settles after a Koresh concert, you must leave bedazzled."
Following the performance, join in the Deutser Art Gallery for the opening of Naftali Hilger's The Jews of Yemen. In highlighting Koresh's Yemenite roots through dance and Naftali Hilger's Jews of Yemen photographs, the evening brings together a dynamic combination of two art forms.
