Through the powerful play, City of Good Abode, the audience will relive the story of the historic strike by Memphis sanitation workers that led to Martin Luther King Jr.’s death, all while exploring the relationship between America’s African American community and the nation’s Jewry, many of whom marched with their black “brethren,” while others’ support was less enthusiastic.

This winner of the 2017 Jewish Plays Project’s New Play Contest is being given its premiere in a special post-Labor Day full production.
