Evelyn’s Park Conservancy has announced that Evelyn’s Park will open to the public, coinciding with global Earth Day. The five-acre green space in Bellaire will debut with a grand opening “Picnic in the Park” event designed to bring the community together and showcase future programming to be offered by the park on a year-round basis.
"Picnic in the Park" will include a bevy of food-centric activities, including picnic baskets with bites from the park’s cafe The Ivy & James at Evelyn’s Park, a mini farmer’s market, beer, wine and cheese tastings, and a food truck zone featuring Oh My Gogi!, Craft Burgers, Yeti Sunshine, and others.
Also being revealed at Picnic in the Park will be the larger-than-life “Move One Place On” Alice in Wonderland-themed sculpture. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with artist Bridgette Mongeon around the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party scene. The daytime events will also include group fitness and wellness, Earth Day activities, a children’s treasure hunt and activities, art projects, and more.
