The Energy Corridor District

EnergyFest 2013, the newest family festival for West Houston, will feature a day of fun activities, great food and good times. Hosted by The Energy Corridor District, EnergyFest celebrates the district's 10th anniversary.

A Bike Off at 10 a.m. attended by Mayor Anise Parker will launch EnergyFest at the Enclave on Eldridge Shopping Center, on the corner of Eldridge and Enclave parkways. Bicycle World of Houston will host its Lids Klub bicycle rodeo and helmet fitting. Families can explore the corridor's extensive bicycle trail network in Terry Hershey Park.

From noon-5 p.m., the event will feature an Entertainment Expo with live, local performers; a Creative Corner with children's activities, face painting, balloon artists and sports teams representatives; a BARC Adopt-a-Pet area; a Sustainable Synergy zone with demonstrations on sustainable living; and food trucks, food booths and beverages. Merchant Street will feature businesses from the area. KHOU Ch. 11's Lily Jang and meteorologist Chita Johnson will emcee the Entertainment Expo.

Proceeds will benefit neighborhood schools in The Energy Corridor.
