Emancipation Park Conservancy (EPC) and Houston Play on Purpose (HPOP) will collaborate and bring back the awe-inspiring stage play “In All Thy Getting: The Forgotten Story of Freedmen’s Town." Purchased by former slaves in 1872 to commemorate the anniversary of “Juneteenth”, the day of their emancipation, Emancipation Park is the setting for this reintroduction to our rich history. The sold-out production in 2017 is back to teach, uplift, and inspire audiences while exploring themes of cultural preservation, gentrification, and Houston's African-American history.
