Emancipation Park Conservancy will host a reception and panel discussion as UNESCO globally launches their publication, Legacies of Slavery: A Resource Book for Managers of Sites and Itineraries of Memory, which is also the United Nations declared World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The resource book includes research, educational materials, and best practices for safeguarding and preserving sites of memory connected to the history of slavery. Emancipation Park along with other designated Houston sites will participate in this global launch day with various activities happening simultaneously.
