In an interview late in his career, Georges Braque explained that his goal as an artist had been to render "tactile space" — the space between humans and everyday objects. Gordon Hughes, Mellon Assistant Professor of Art History, Rice University, explores this concept in Braque's late still-life paintings.
A reception and exhibition viewing follow the lecture.
