The public is invited to mix and mingle with emerging artists and established gallerists at the forefront of Latin American Art as part of the museum's 10th anniversary celebration of the Latin American art department. "El Encuentro" offers an international art fair-style set-up with some 25 galleries providing information to the public about the artists and the works of art that they represent.
In addition, "Conversing with Color: Carlos Cruz-Diez and Mari Carmen Ramirez," a special conversation between the MFAH Latin American art curator and the pioneering Franco-Venezuelan artist, whose retrospective opens at MFAH on Sunday, Feb. 6, will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m.
This event is open to the public with the price of museum admission.
