Edible Earth Resources Class: "Build-A-Bed: How to build a raised vegetable garden from scratch"

eventdetail
Edible Earth Resources

Interested in growing your own vegetables at home but aren't sure where to start? Join the experts from Edible Earth Resources to learn how to build your own raised vegetable garden. Take part in the entire process from start to finish in this two hour hands-on demonstration in a training garden at Houston Makerspace.

Topics covered include site selection, frame materials, soils, construction and planting for the current season.

All participants should wear clothes that can get dirty, a pair of gloves and closed-toed shoes. Students will also leave equipped with the knowledge to start their own garden right away, including seeds and seedlings to plant a 4-by-8-foot raised bed. Build-A-Bed kits will be available for purchase, which include pre-cut lumber and hardware. Simply pick up soil on your way home and you will be ready to build and plant.

Hands-on classes are limited in size to ensure ample time with your professor.
