Poet Edward Hirsch will read from his eighth book of poems, The Living Fire, at Brazos Bookstore, Tuesday, April 6. The event, sponsored in collaboration with Inprint, is free and open to the public. Hirsch taught poetry for 17 years at the University of Houston Creative Writing Program. In addition to his books of poetry, Hirsch has written four prose books, among them How to Read a Poem (And Fall in Love with Poetry). He has received the National Book Critics Circle Award and a MacArthur Fellowship, and is now the president of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
