East End Clean Up Day

eventdetail

The Greater East End Management District will provide 2011 East End Clean Up Day volunteers with water and snacks along with gloves, trash bags and other materials throughout the three-hour clean up event to pick up litter, remove graffiti and plant and prune trees. The clean up effort will be joined by the Texas Department of Transportation's one millionth tree — a 65-gallon bald cypress that will tour the District area and mark a 10-year effort to make Houston greener.

The Greater East End Management District’s 16-square-mile boundaries will have 20 clean up sites. Clean up volunteers will focus on right-of-way areas, parks (Settegast, Eastwood, Guadalupe Plaza, Japhet Creek) and neighborhood streets, including those in the Second Ward area.
