U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez will speak at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy on his views about the immigration reform bill currently stalled in Congress and how his life, traced in his recently published memoir, has been affected by the nation's immigration system.

Gutierrez, a 10-term member of the House of Representatives, is the author of Still Dreaming: My Journey from the Barrio to Capitol Hill. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event, held in Baker Hall, Doré Commons.
