This concert aims to raise funds for relief efforts in Japan. Presented by the students of The Shepherd School of Music, doctoral candidates Makiko Hirata (piano) and Maiko Sasaki (clarinet) lead the charge.
The program includes Mozart's Piano Concerto in B-flat Major, KV 595, featuring Jon Kimura Parker with members of Shepherd School's faculty and students, joined by the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, and chamber music by Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Bach, Takemitsu, Ichiyanagi and Brahms to be performed by faculty and students of the Shepherd School.
