"Dead Landscape," the latest body of work from L.A.-based artist Jennifer Pastor, opens at the Glassell School on Dec. 11. The exhibition features Pastor's reproductions of archival U.S. war drawings and photos juxtaposed next to her on-the-spot interpretations of contemporary organized fighting.

Pastor interviewed soldiers and combat artists from various U.S. campaigns from World War II through the occupation of Iraq and collected archival drawings and photographs of battle. During this time, she also began attending organized fights such as cage fighting and gladiator events and documented what she saw with on-the-spot sketches.

The exhibition includes around 40 drawings and photos; this will be its first showing in the United States.
