Classical, modern and contemporary dance share the 2014 Dance Salad Festival stage to form a mix of movement and compelling choreographic invention. Some of the world's best dance companies and performances, including Étoiles of the Paris Opéra Ballet, France; Sadler's Wells Production of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's m¡longa with tango dancers and live tango music from Buenos Aires; Beijing Dance/LDTX, China; Royal Danish Ballet; Weisbaden Staatstheater Ballet, Germany; Elephant in the Black Box (EBB), Madrid, Spain; and Contemporary Dragon KungFu Company, Beijing, China, travel to Houston to participate in this weeklong festival.
Each night's production is uniquely curated and designed as a coherent performance.
The Choreographers' Forum, which features some of the invited choreographers, will take place on April 16, 7 p.m., at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, a day before the opening night of the festival.
