Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva was the First Prize winner of the 2010 International Chopin Piano Competition, which launched her to international fame as audiences discovered her interpretations of Chopin’s music.

Following recitals at the Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall, she comes to Houston with a program of Chopin’s 24 Preludes juxtaposed with Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues, the composer’s homage to J.S. Bach.
