Adapted by Jon Jory from the novel by Jane Austen, Emma is the story of a young woman determined to find an impressive suitor for her friend, Harriet. When she becomes entangled in the romantic lives of her friends and acquaintances, Emma puts herself in danger of becoming the victim of her own best intentions.
Jory is considered the foremost adapter of Jane Austen's works for the stage. As the producing director at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Jory directed more than 125 plays and produced more than 1,000 during his 32-year tenure.
