The Czech Center Museum Houston will present 'Tempus Fugit II," a traveling photographic exhibition by Dano and Jana Veselský. The collection captures the Broumov group of Baroque churches an exceptional ensemble of sacred architecture nestled in the northeastern Bohemian countryside.
Designed by renowned High Baroque architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, along with contributions from his father Kryštof Dientzenhofer, and architect Martin Allio, these 11 churches and one pilgrimage chapel reflect both artistic splendor and rural practicality. Though built to be modest and cost-effective, they remain strikingly decorative and are now protected as Czech national cultural monuments.
Through evocative imagery, "Tempus Fugit II" not only showcases the architectural beauty of these spiritual landmarks, but also documents the efforts to preserve and restore them for future generations.
Opening night will include a special lecture and presentation.
