The second concert of the premiere season of the Cypress Philharmonic features the vigorous Overture in C Major by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel and the emotional Scottish Symphony by her more well-known brother, Felix Mendelssohn. In between the works of Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn are Anton Arensky's luxurious Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky and energetic selections from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story.
