Vein of Sky is a multichannel sound art installation based on environmental data such as air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, light and other dynamic features of the local climate. These ambient flows are captured and sonified as bleeps, roars, whirrs, blips, hisses, cracks and shuffles.
The installation is triggered by the presence of a listener, and the longer the listener stays the more complex the layers of sound become. The intention is to reveal aspects of space we don't normally perceive, and generate new relationships between listeners and their environment.
On view through April 13. The installation is located near the John P. McGovern Lake.
