[the invisible city] is an interactive multimedia project that explores Houston's many social, economic and material wards and raises questions about the nature of community and place. A modern spin on the Choose Your Own Adventure gamebook series, [the invisible city] unfolds across several interrelated stories, each story consisting of dozens of location-based installments, which can only be accessed when a reader's GPS-enabled smartphone or tablet computer matches the coordinates of a specified location.

[the invisible city] asks visitors and natives alike to explore our city as fictional characters, who must run through downtown underground tunnels, catch city buses, or take a kayak down the bayou, all in pursuit of the story.
