The Barbara Bush Library Friends and Copperfield’s Books are joining forces for a fundraiser sidewalk sale benefiting the recovery efforts for the community’s Barbara Bush Branch Library.

Hurricane Harvey had a devastating impact in many parts of the Spring area, as Cypress Creek overcame its banks during the height of the storm and swallowed the homes and businesses along Cypresswood Drive, including the Barbara Bush Branch Library, which took on two and a half feet of water and destroyed furnishings, carpets, walls, furniture, and many thousands of books. The library is closed until further notice, as repairs are ongoing.

Community members can help in the repair efforts by coming out to Copperfield’s Books for a sidewalk sale benefiting the library. The independently owned neighborhood bookstore on the corner of Louetta Rd. and Champions Forest Drive has hundreds of books in excess inventory, and 75 percent of all proceeds from the sale will be given to the library. Books will be priced $2 per hardback, $1 for oversized/trade paperbacks and 50¢ per mass market paperback.
