Premieres of Contemporary World Cinema: Carlos

eventdetail
Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Looking to kill some time? Head for the "Premieres of Contemporary World Cinema" series, which features Carlos, a five-and-a-half-hour film about the career of the notorious revolutionary terrorist, "Carlos the Jackal." Director Olivier Assayas recreates Carols' 1975 kidnapping of OPEC oil ministers in Vienna. Scenes are set in 16 countries and include dialogue in five different languages. Even with the long length of the movie, "hardly ever do you find yourself glancing at your watch," the New Yorker magazine notes. Two intermissions will be granted for leg stretching.
