Congregation Emanu El will get out from behind its walls to bring Jewish life into the public sphere in a fun and accessible way as it hosts "Shabbat on the Green." Bring a picnic blanket or chairs at 5:30 p.m. before joining the rabbis and The Shabbatones for a service that beings at 6 p.m.

The Shabbatones, featuring Barbara Loeser, Dee Dee Dochen, David Goldstein, Joel Luks, Julie Sacks, Mike Kahn, Greg Sherman and Michael Shelley, have been a part of Emanu El's Shabbat services for the last 10 years. This group will have a few tricks up their sleeves for this special Sabbath. 

This program enables all Houstonians to experience Jewish culture and tradition in an accessible way as the congregation strives to help all members of the community to feel welcome and included.
