The Commodores in concert
Legendary funk and soul superstars the Commodores come by that description “legendary” honestly. It isn’t merely their three decades as a “force in the music industry;” the members came together as students at the famed Tuskegee Institute; they opened for The Jackson 5, and were signed to the storied Motown Records after being discovered by founder and music icon Barry Gordy.
With Motown, the Commodores sold over 60 million records. Hits included “Sail On,” the instrumental perennial sports and soundtrack favorite, “Machine Gun,” “Three Times A Lady.” “Easy,” and the monster hit known to every DJ and at every party, “Brick House.” Through the decades and personnel changes, the Commodores have continued to perform and record, delighting old fans and gaining new ones.
