Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci met at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater in Los Angeles in 2007 and formed Garfunkel and Oates, named after the "two famous rock-and-roll second bananas" Art Garfunkel and John Oates, shortly thereafter. The duo, which regularly performs and tours across the country, was named one of the Top 10 Comics to Watch by Variety.

In 2012, Garfunkel and Oates appeared on their first comedy special, The Half-Hour, on Comedy Central. Their first two full length albums, Slippery When Moist and All Over Your Face, both hit No. 1 on the iTunes comedy charts.
