The 41st Annual Clear Lake Gem and Mineral Show will give guests a chance to see and learn about rare fossils, rocks, and exquisite gems. Visitors will get to watch demonstrations of lapidary – the art of cutting, polishing, and engraving precious stones. There will also be over 30 vendors who will be offering a variety of enticing merchandise, such as books, tools, mineral, and fossil specimens, jewelry, and much more. Kids can also rock-out at the hands-on, interactive area where children of all ages can learn about geology, fossils, dinosaurs, and more.
New to the show, “Dinosaurs Rock” is a participatory show where children will be selected to assist in the presentation as the group leans about extinction theory, asteroids, comets, meteorites and more. During the show patrons will get to touch a Hadrosaur (dinosaur) egg. Dinosaurs Rock will be daily at 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm. Special activities will be available for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to work on geology merit badges. Scout sessions will be held daily at 11 am, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm (Saturday Only).
