Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener, South Pacific is a musical romance that centers on a group of American sailors and navy nurses stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. This Rodgers and Hammerstein classic is considered to be one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time. It is a heartwarming tale of love, romance, war, racial tolerance, laughter and liveliness.
The score is full of memorable, timeless tunes such as "Younger than Springtime," "There's Nothing Like a Dame," "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy" and "Some Enchanted Evening."
