CityPlace celebrates Texas distilling as Dripping Springs comes to Spring during the district’s inaugural Whiskey Weekend. On June 6, CityPlace will host a Whiskey Wind Down iteration of its Sips series on the central green. Treaty Oak representatives will be on hand to sample and answer questions about the product, and $5 happy hour pours and specialty cocktails will be available. Singer-songwriter Adrian Michael will perform, and food can be purchased at adjacent SwitcHouse Plates & Pours, where the activation will be relocated in the event of rain.
On Friday, June 7, newly appointed SwitcHouse chef Darren Tonner, formerly of Morton's The Steakhouse, collaborates on a four-course whiskey pairing dinner with Treaty Oak Distilling chef and pitmaster Scott Fogle. The evening, which is priced at $100 per person, includes complimentary valet parking and spotlights a presentation by Treaty Oak’s Director of Science and Sustainability Jamie Biel. Following the dinner, SwitcHouse will feature a reverse happy hour showcasing Treaty Oak Distilling cocktails from 10 pm until close.
Whiskey Weekend festivities conclude with Brunch on the Plaza from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, June 8. The alfresco buffet will be priced at $30 per person and accompanied with entertainment from guitarist Robert Greaney. Additionally, made-to-measure clothier Tom James will be on-hand to showcase seasonal fabrics and styles and take fittings for custom garments.
