After a successful pilot program, the city of Houston will permanently host the City Hall Farmer’s Market each Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. For the kick-off, students participating in Recipe For Success’ School Garden Program will be making reusable, compostable, homemade newspaper pots for planting seeds. American Idol's "Idol Across America" will make this event its fourth stop with finalist and Texas native Michael Sarver.

Guests over 15 years old will have the opportunity to record their own take on the “This is AMERICAN IDOL…” introduction made famous by Ryan Seacrest and be entered into a nationwide contest for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood to deliver the famous line on the Idol stage. Fans will also have the opportunity to participate in the “Be Your Own Idol” singing experience and pose for photos alongside life-size standees of Seacrest and judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
