Cinema Arts Festival
Tilda Swinton (or simply "SWINTON" to some fans of her outlandish fashion) is closing her stint in Houston with a free outdoor screening of The Red Shoes at Discovery Green.
The film, based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, centers around a young ballerina who rises to fame with the help of some mysterious and magical ballet shoes. It's been cited as a favorite by cinematic bigwigs like Swinton and Martin Scorsese.
Appropriately, it will be preceded by a performance by students of the Houston Ballet Academy.
