Casa Argentina de Houston presents Alejandro Ziegler Tango Quartet

In celebration of the Bicentennial Anniversary of the Independence of the Argentine Republic, Casa Argentina de Houston brings the acclaimed Alejandro Ziegler Tango Quartet for an Argentine Tango show of music, songs, and dance performances.

The concert will focus on different periods of tango from its origins, the Golden Age orchestras and Astor Piazzolla to the present day. Since 2008, the Alejandro Ziegler Tango Quartet has developed its own unique style of tango music reflecting both innovation and tradition. Inspired by the Golden Age tango orchestras, the ensemble creates an evolutionary synthesis of traditional tango and contemporary feeling.

The musicians of Alejandro Ziegler Tango Quartet are: Alejandro Ziegler (Piano, Conductor) (Argentina), Alfonso Santini Darino (Double Bass) (Uruguay), Astro Rocco (Violin) (Argentina) and Leonel Gasso (Bandoneón, Vocalist) (Uruguay).

The show will also feature Luna Tango Dance Company as well as vocalist Leonel Gasso who also plays the bandoneón.
