Carya String Quartet presents Dedications

The Carya String Quartet will present an exploration of how cross-cultural and cross-generational influences can inspire the creator and the listener. This season opening weekend features the first of Mozart’s “Haydn” Quartets, K 387, dedicated to his mentor Joseph Haydn; Shostakovich’s fourth String Quartet in D Major, dedicated to his friend Pyotr Vilyams; and Glazunov’s Five Novelettes for String Quartet, which explore the styles of Spain, the Ottoman Empire, Russia, Vienna, and Hungary. The evening will include a silent auction and fundraiser.

The concert on October 11 will be at Archway Gallery and the concert on October 12 at the Virtuosi of Houston Memorial City Mall Studio.
