Hear this 26-member choral ensemble fill the museum's largest gallery of European art with powerfully evocative vocal warmth and dynamic interpretations of timeless classics and brilliant new scores. This year, Cantare Houston welcomes auditioning conductor Amy Solberg as she presents an eclectic mix of styles and moods on the theme of "Mother and Child: Songs of Love and Joy."
The program includes new settings of well-known carols, motets and songs. Among the featured selections are Clausen's Magnificat, Four Motets by Durufle, and songs by Willan, Rachmaninoff and more. The program will close with Cantare's traditional audience sing-along and Silent Night.
