Bridgeland's Seventh Annual Nature Fest

eventdetail
Bridgeland

Bridgeland's Nature Fest will feature a different breed of zoo with a group that combines puppetry and mechanics to create pedal-powered animal art — Austin Bike Zoo. This year's event will showcase two of the cycling clan's butterfly bikes, one of which comes in at 15 feet tall, making it the monarch of the duo.

Other spectacles include Staples Safari Zoo, which will be returning with its unique troop of rescued lemurs, kangaroos, movie-star monkeys and other exotic animals, and Crocodile Encounter, known for its interactive reptile show. Pony and camel rides, a petting zoo, bumper boats, bounce houses, family-friendly activities and a pack of gourmet food trucks will also keep wild things of all ages occupied.

After last year's attempt went to the birds because of an unexpected downpour, the crowd will again gather in an effort to break the world record for the most people giving a simultaneous bird call. To break the record, at least 802 people need to make the cardinal's call for 10 seconds or more during Nature Fest.
