Brave New Waves: Explorations in Electronic Sound begins its 2014 concert season at Studio 101. A music series focusing on electronic, electro-acoustic and other contemporary music forms, these performances feature local Houston area and International artists and performers. Chosen with consideration to showcase a variety of electronic based music styles, Brave New Waves is dedicated to attracting a broad and diverse audience and to give the the public opportunities to directly experience the music of electronic explorers and innovators.

Concerts include works by many of the field's electronic pioneers, as well as providing opportunity for composers to have their work performed and heard.

The program includes performances by Chad Mossholder, Austin; James Johnson, Houston; and Seth Paynter, Houston. Works by Musique Concrète pioneer Pierre Schaeffer will be featured as part of the Survey of Electronic Music Pioneers portion of the program.
