Brasserie du Parc is joining up with Violet Crown Spirits of Bastrop, Texas, to launch Texas’ first Green Fairy – better known as absinthe. Everyone is invited to don their showiest Parisian finery and party like its 1899.
The party will showcase Emerald Absinthe, the first Texas-made absinthe created by the Derelict Airship Distillery of Bastrop. There will be absinthe cocktails created by Beverage Manager Kim Paul, sweet and savory nibbles by Chef de Cuisine Romain Mauger, herbaceous elixirs, and performances by special guests. Representatives from the distillery will be on hand to discuss absinthe, its mysteries and its lore.
There couldn’t be a more perfect setting for this launch than the authentic brasserie environs of Brasserie du Parc as few things are associated more closely with 19th century France than absinthe, the potent, herbal liquor often known as “la fee verte” (green fairy) because of its potency. The party will include all the absinthiana – the multiple accoutrements such as spoons and drips that go along with serving the drink.
