The solo exhibition "So Sorry for Being Me" consists of dark and moody watercolor and gouache portraits by Patrick Phipps that ask the viewer what is good enough, in an intentionally uncomfortable exchange.
The group exhibition "Testing, Próbando" celebrates BOX 13’s bilingual website, and the private labor of a studio practice, highlighting the test pieces and outliers from the studios of current BOX 13 Member Artists.
Melinda Laszczynski’s installation "Soft Slip" includes paintings and ceramic sculptures that vacillate between form and surface, including piled-on materials such as glitter, lenticular prints, crushed glass, and acrylic that evoke hyper-saturated consumption and the remains of girl-power nostalgia.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until February 29.
