In Japan, Benshi performers memorize Western movies and then reinterpret the story for an Eastern audience. BooTown changes things up a bit by morphing Buffy's original plot into something entirely different. Emily Hynds and company will turn the classic coming-to-age-during-an-infestation-of-vampires story into a zombpocalypse — with a family-ties twist.
Assisting Hynds will be a cast of voices including Blair Knowles of Classical Theatre Company; local actor/BooTown newcomer Matt Benton, star of the soon-to-be-released movie Meet Me There Lisa Friedrich; and local improvisor/comedian Adrian Frimpong. Joe Wozny will return to perform an original score written for the show.
