Booker-Lowe Gallery, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, will present the opening reception of "Sandbeach Dreamings" with Australian Aboriginal artists Silas Hobson and Irene Namok. Lockhart River artists have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in the art world since beginning to paint in the late 1990s. Their contemporary work references ancient traditions and ancestral landscapes, both with layers of paint and layers of meaning.
After the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view until December 16.
