Booker-Lowe gallery presents the opening of "Power of Place: New Paintings" by the Warlpiri Artists of Australia’s Central Desert. The Warlpiri people have called Australia’s Central Desert home for thousands of years. Since the late 1980s, Warlpiri artists have adopted modern materials to create powerful paintings that reflect their ruggedly-beautiful landscapes and ancestral Dreamings. "Power of Place" will feature paintings by leading artists such as Athena Nangala Granites and Tanya Nugarrayi Collins, as well as works by emerging artists.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until July 7.
