Booker-Lowe Gallery presents 2015 Lecture at MFAH Glassell School

Booker-Lowe Gallery will sponsor its seventh annual lecture at the Museum of Fine Arts/ Houston’s Glassell School in the school’s Frank Freed Auditorium.

The 2015 Lecture will be given by Glenn Adamson, the Nanette L. Laitman Director of the Museum of Arts and Design, New York.  Adamson was, until 2013, the head of research at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, where he was active as a curator, historian and theorist. Adamson will speak on the topic Making It in New York City: The Museum of Arts and Design—A Force for Cultural Change.

Adamson’s publications include Thinking Through Craft (2007), The Craft Reader (2010), Invention of the Craft (2013), and Postmodernism: Style and Subversion 1970 to 1990 (2011). He is also the co-founder and editor of the triannual Journal of Modern Craft.
