Conditions is a group exhibition of works by students as their senior thesis at the University of Houston. Conditions describes the wide variety of environments and starting points from which the artists make their work — the human condition, a state of mind, the place from which character and ideas grow.

Such a diverse group of artists presents an equally diverse set of ideas and approaches. PDM 15 is the senior class of the University of Houston BFA program in Photography/Digital Media. The PDM program provides an intensive studio environment where students work on conceptual art projects formed around digital and lens-based work. Each year, the students from PDM put together a group senior thesis exhibition of their work. This exhibition is organized by the students, with the assistance of faculty and provides each student with the opportunity to showcase the work from their final year of the program.

The class of 2015 consists of 17 artists working in mediums ranging from chemical photography to video and photographic collage, including Michael Alaniz, Martin Atilano, Asad Badat, Carlos Carrasco, Rick Custer, Stevie Falter, Brenda Franco, Claire Gage, Allyson Huntsman, Jonatan Martinez, Adrienne Elyse Meyers, Cindy Nguyen, Maureen Penders, Cassie Skelly, Andrew Sosa, Raquel Vargas, and Emily Walling. The exhibition is curated by UH alumna and founder of the Lens Capsule and Emily Peacock.

An opening reception will be held on May 2, 6-9 p.m., followed by artist talks on May 17, 1-2:30 p.m. On view through May 23.
