Blonde Redhead, noted for high, eerie voices hovering over melodic guitar riffs and rhythmic drum beats, is an underground favorite. The span of time between albums Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons (2000) and Misery is a Butterfly (2004) is attributed to singer Kazu Makino's recovery time after being trampled by a horse. Blonde Redhead is featured as the sixth band in the 4AD Session series, with songs from the latest album Penny Sparkle. Icelandic singer Ólöf Arnalds joins Blonde Redhead with music from her lastest release, Innundir skinni.
