Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles follows twenty-something, neo-hippie Leo and his octogenarian, radical communist grandmother Vera as they become unexpected roommates in Vera's Manhattan apartment after Leo turns up out of the blue from a traumatic, cross-country bike trip.
