Floyd Collins is based on the true story of a Kentucky caver who became trapped from January 30 to February 16, 1925. The play follows Collins below ground as he comes to terms with his fate, and his family above ground as they struggle with the media circus that flocks to cover the story.

With music by Tony Award-winning composer Adam Guettel (The Light in the Piazza) and book by Tina Landau, Floyd Collins is an honest, emotional tale about the love of family, the strength of friendship and the desperate circumstances that often define people.
