"Meta" references Dominic Clay's experiences as a Black millennial in America narrated by his identity in a visual dialogue with the viewer. Clay's work is crafted from both traditional and modern dialogues. He finds inspiration in the parallels of the past, present, and future. He uses portraiture to serve as an investigation into my identity as well as the viewer's, the cynicism of postmodernism, pop-culture, and the optimism of metamodernism.
