Big Range Dance Festival 2011: Dance Gathering

A project by Suchu Dance, the Big Range Dance Festival promises a collection of fresh, innovative and raw choreography from some of the most well-known and beloved choreographers and companies in Houston as well as some of the newest blood to emerge on the Houston dance scene. An artist-driven and artist-produced project, the festival presents new works that explore diverse ideas and break boundaries.

The Dance Gathering is a fast-paced, uncurated, first-come-first-serve evening of works that are four minutes or less. Dances can be in any genre and are performed by dancers of any experience level, from novice to veteran. Guests might see anything from traditional hula, to hip hop with a narrative, to dance-based performance art, to ballet en pointe, to jazz, to bharatanatyam, or maybe event avant-garde circus arts.
