Best of Slamdance 2010: Bhopali

eventdetail

Slamdance has established a reputation for premiering new films by first-time writers and directors working within the creative confines of limited budgets.

Bhopali, the evening's feature film, tells the story of second-generation children affected by the Union Carbide gas disaster of 1984, the worst industrial disaster in history, and the subsequent contamination of their groundwater. It follows the children's struggles to deal with health and social concerns years after the catastrophic incident.

Coupled with Bhopali is the screening of a short documentary, Bird, about a man without a purpose who befriends a bird who cannot fly.
